Ms. Gina
Gina Penn has been dancing since the age of five. Her training in ballet, tap, jazz, and pointe began at Paulyn’s Dance Studio in Norfolk, Nebraska, and continued during her years at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She has been teaching dance for over twenty five years, specializing in tap and has been teaching at Sondance since 2016.
For the past twelve years Gina has been teaching and choreographing dances for tap and jazz competition teams with dancers ages 5-18. Her dances have won a variety of awards at both regional and national dance competitions including judge’s choice, encore performance, best choreography, and top overall scores.
At the age of 13, Gina discovered she could use dance as a form of worshiping God and began her own dance ministry. When she moved to Minnesota in 2004, she joined Terry Field as the co-director of the Moving Spirit Dance Ministry at The Well, a United Methodist Church in Rosemount. She loves teaching young dancers and inspiring them to experience worship through movement. "Let us praise His name with dancing", Psalm 149:3
